My outside lamp post isn’t working. What could be wrong and how can i fix it?

I have a lamp post outside that is a modern lamp.  It comes on when dark outside.  I think water may have gotten in the sockets but I’m not certain.

I’ve tried new light bulbs and they dont work.  What could be wrong and how can i fix it? thanks.

Check breaker box for tripped breaker
Check photo cell for open contacts
Check bulb socket and wire terminals for corrosion

if it has a photo sensor that turns the light on and off at night you might need to replace that

Splices in outdoor fixtures often become corroded.Turn off breaker supplying power to the lite, remove wire nuts(marrettes),if signs of corrosion are apparent, cut and re-splice,apply no lox or any anti oxidizing agent before replacing NEW wire nuts.
If it has a photo cel, these very often fail.Bypass photo cel to check if it still good.BE SURE TO TURN OFF POWER BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANY OF THIS.
    If it’s a ballasted lite,replace it.
Again ALWAYS TURN OFF POWER BEFORE WORKING ON ANYTHING ELECTRICAL.and don’t forget to put your safety glasses on.
If this doesn’t help, call an electrician
