Deck lights are smaller lights that are installed to shine some light onto the deck surface without eliminating the ambiance during the evening hours. These lights are a great addition to any landscape decor.
Designing a low voltage deck lighting system is a simple home improvement project. With such a wide variety of low voltage deck lights and accessories to choose from, it gives you the perfect opportunity to be really creative.
A low voltage lighting scheme should not only look great, it should provide safety and security around the deck at night.
Low voltage deck lights are easy to install and create such a great effect for your deck that it would be well worth having a go installing some in your own backyard.
Split and strip your wires. Connect 1 side of the split wire to one side of the socket. And again with the other side.
awsome stuff
ur videos are great dude good stuff
does it matter which wire is connected to where in the transformer or the socket end
Thanks for the great comment! No. There is no hot wire or cold wire when using low voltage. So you just have to split the low voltage wire and attach one of each to one of each on the socket. Same thing in the transformer, depending on the type of transformer you use you just put one side in “A” and one side in “B”. Nice work all around. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks flyrodder. I wish I had a budget to have a professional shoot this type of stuff so I could get a better view. Hopefully these videos help out at least a little bit. I also have a photo tutorial on my website that is pretty good to look at before you get started wiring up your deck.
Its informative and yes, a professional videographer will always help but I think you’ve helped a lot for neophyte do-it-yourselfers and have done it for free. I’m having a contractor build my composite deck and now I’m considering various options for lightings. Again, thanks for the videos.
You’re sure welcome. Feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions about lighting. I’m happy to help whether you use my deck lights or not.
I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.
